8th Grade English Language Arts

My name is Amy Kusmierz, and this is my fourth year at Peacock Middle School with Itasca District 10. I have earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English with Secondary Education Certification from Elmhurst College. I am excited to teach 8th Grade English Language Arts and Social Studies this year. Helping students prepare for Lake Park High School, or wherever they attend, is something I take seriously. I look forward to the memorable field learning activities and end-of-year events students will participate in. My goals are to strengthen your child’s skills through positive reinforcement, ignite their passion for reading, and build their writing, speaking, and listening skills. I also encourage all students to join clubs or sports and get involved. These experiences allow students to grow in a social setting outside of academics. Outside school, I love to travel, spend time with my family, and watch football. I like camping, hiking, and spending time outdoors.
